hello again! While still waiting to see if anyone can help me with the MIDI cable noise thing, I've got another crucial question:

I'm a beginning engineer fed up with the new Mackie and Behringer sound, looking for something different. I found an Allen and Heath CMC32 (24 channel) mixer for sale in my area, in great condition for a good price. Does anyone have an opinion on this board? Any info is much appreciated!

using a Neve vr 72 input console and have a stupid question! Can I split the signal by going insert out to one source and coming off the fader (direct out) or a bus to another source. Stupid question I know but in these modern times.

what the best bet in terms of a mixer for a surround setup. also, price is a consideration. we were thinking of the 02R 96, or the DM2000. There's also a Sony dmx board.

however, i'm slightly hesitant of the A/D D/A of the Yamaha. the Sony board is a bit more expensive and has some problems with plugins and DAW integration-- so I heard.

There is a MCI JH 600 console up for sale here. I got interested because it seems like a good deal. Problem is, I have none hands-on experience with MCI, only heard stuff about and recorded with the MCI. Good stuff. Anyone have opinions/experience of this console ?

Well, not yet, but it's threatening to. I'm looking at moving from a board that fits comfortably on my 32" by 66" work surface, meaning that monitors (audio and computer) also fit on the surface. The new board I'm looking at will completely fill my work surface, meaning I'm going to need to build/kludge something to fit it.

Has anybody in here ever used a Neumann SP-xx console?
How is the EQ's on such a console and has it any compression?
How is the noise floor on such a unit?

So I have borrowed that Biamp board I was asking about awhile ago. It is the Biamp Legend console with 28 input channels. It dosn't seem to have any aux send jacks on the back, but it does have 4 returns. Can anyone help me figure out the routing on this? Or does anyone have any info on the company history or their older products?
