Converting to A-Law 16 Bit ?
I have a question consirning audioconverting.
Does anybody know if it is possible to convert a .WAV 44.1kHz. 16Bits Mono file into a A-law 8 kHz. 16Bits Mono file?
Normally I convert the WAV's into A-Law 8 Bits, but now I need to convert them to 16 bits files which seems not possible with the programs I use.(Soundforge 4.5, Wavlab 3.0, CoolEdit)

converting from tape to CD
I've got what is probably a simple question.
I'm in the process of converting my band's old live shows from audio tape (regular store bought tapes) to CD. I'm recording into SoundForge 5.0 and just burning it out onto CD. Should I record at 88.2k-24 bit stereo or is 44.1-16 bit mono fine?
thanks,
Nick

Advantage of Converting Midi to Wave
Hi,
I am using Sonar 2.2 is there na advantage to converting my Midi tracks (using DXI) to wave? It seems as though I can route any effects thru the aidio track for any of my DXI tracks.
Thanks

Converting Wav To Midi?
I am trying to convert simple mono wav files into midi files for the purpose of importing into Score editing software such as Noteworthy composer or Vivaldi gold. The only midi files I seem to be capable of making are "Type 0" files. So far "Type 0" midi files seem to be incompatible with the various score editors I've tried out...They all ask for "Type 1" Midi files.

Converting Files
I originally recorded my tracks at 24/96 in Nuendo and now due to system limitations I want to convert the tracks down to either 24/48 or 24/44. Basically, the higher format is wiping out my CPU once I start editing and using plugins. I converted one song down to 24/44 and gained a lot of system headroom and there didn’t appear to be any problems.

Converting MAC to PC
I have a client that has created a Logic song on a MAC in SDII format. I have a PC. Apart from saving as ISO9660 ? is there anything else I need him to do (i.e. convert to .aiff, .wav)?

Converting from 44.1 to 48khz:What's the best way?
Hello there guys...(and girls)
I have to convert tracks from 44.1khz to 48khz:
What's the best way to do it?
Would it be wise to just re-record the whole song with 48khz?
Or should I use a converter, the Pro Tools-Converter for example?
Any advice would be very nice...
merci
