I have a RME Fireface UFX as my interface.
The UFX AD DA converters have received excellent reviews.
Would like to know your opinions if I should spend the money to upgrade the converters.
I don't want to be spending $2,000 plus on a new converter unless it would produce a noticable change in sound quality.

Crappity crap, crap crap.

For the last time, my Frontier Tango 24 has over-heated. I can't complain--it's worked fine as a front end for my RME card for 10 years. But as the years have gone by it's now happening every few months.

So... to refresh, it's 24 bit/48khz. 8 in A/D and 8 out D/A. Selectable +10/-4 on each channel. Word clock sync. That's about it.

Hi all, I hope the is the right place for this question...

I have a dbx 386 connecting to a MOTU 828 Mk2 via S/PDIF. Am I better off connecting to the 828 with analog cables and thus allowing the 828 to handle the d/a conversion?

I've read that the 828 has "very nice" converters however I've not the expertise to make that judgment.

What do you folks think?

What kind of issues do artist/tour managers face? Besides the obvious music piracy, what kind of problems do you have to deal with on a day to day basis?

My sound card is an RME 9652 which has ADAT outs. Working fine.

Now for years I've used a Frontier Designs Tango 24 for the D/A portion (to get to the studio control mixer) but the Tango24 now seems to be flaking out.

I just need to make some things clear for me.
I am about to upgrade my recording studio and need to know the following before choosing equipments to buy with a limited budget:

Could I add an external D/A like the PreSonus central station to a 003 rack and use the A/D of the 003?

Digital to Analog converter. The opposite of an A/D converter where audio signals in the form of digital data are reconstructed back into an analog waveform. As with ADC, DACs come in a variety of configurations and prices ranges, and vary in how faithfully the program material is reassembled.

Hi All, I have a question about converters.. I recently switched from a digital board to a soundracs Topaz 32. I need to find a way to get as many individual channels into the computer (G5). I want to use the pres and EQ on the board prior to going ITB during the tracking phase and then come OTB and mix with the Soundtracs during the mixing process.

I've been using a stage name for a few months only to discover that another artist is using it.

The only difference is that mine has a 'Z' behind the name...So if his is Bubba Blocker, mine is Bubba Blockerz

He's been using it long before I have...

His genre of music is totally different to mine, he lives in Pittsburgh (I live in London).. He's unsigned.
