I just got my FireBox back from the repair shop and I thought I'd do a little side by side comparison. I compared the sound quality of plugging directly into my computer's onboard soundcard and plugging into an interface so that newbies/home recorders/hobbyists can hear exactly what the difference is and can come to their own conclusions.

I have to confess that my knowledge of digital audio formats and the structure of various files is, at best, spotty. I'm going to have to swap files with people adding tracks to some base tracks I am recording, and I'd like to, uhh, actually know what I am doing. Can someone direct me to a reliable book, website, etc. where I can learn the details.

Hello, pls can anybody help me? I bought new Home desktop PC and I want to send out a digital audio output from Windows XP to send it my sound aparature by coaxial cable. I found some answers how to set up the digital output in Win XP, but i doesn't work. If I click Master Volume -> Play Control -> and then I can't click on Advanced, where it should be.

I am in need of any info I can get, including specs, what were the popular modifications to this unit and can I make the mods myself? It looks as if I am going to be stuck with this thing, so I want to make the most of it. LOL.

I purchased a hot rod PC from shop specializing in silent audio workstations. I am using Sound Forge 8.0 with, first, an m-audio: audio quattro usb 4 in 4 out box. The PC was randomly restarting and I was getting a lot of static and short dropouts in my recordings.

He's upgrading from an old G3 "color" iMac that is like 7 years old. I've only been a Mac user since May of 2006, so my knowledge is still limited. Now, I know that new macs have a "Audio line in/optical digital audio input (minijack)".

I am seeing if it is feasible to do my own hi-quality video demo of me playing acoustic drums for distribution on the web. I would like it to be decent quality audio and video.
