I have recently purchased a DPA 4099g and would like a definitive answer to whether plugging /unplugging with phantom power on is advisable.

I'm recording a choir in a playhouse next month. Its a new venue and concept for me. I'm going to need some last minute help on this, starting now :)

I'm using my trusted SF 24 in the center and hanging DPA 's down on top of them. Hanging mics is new for me.
The LCD are a matched pair of DPA 4011 cardiod's with the optional 2006 Omni caps, I'm thinking omni for this?

I am looking at a stereo mic kit to do simple remote recordings of live performances. Fairly diverse music genres - some chamber music, some big band, and some bluegrass. Most will be in a few decent halls in my region.
I have a collection of decent studio mics in pairs (AT4050's, SM81's,RODE NT5's), some good "spot mics"

Listen to these clips, especially the guitar at the start. It sounds incredible.

I personally use DPA mics and they are incredible. I have a matched pair of 4011 with the optional 2006 interchangeable Omni capsules. So I have both Cardioid and Omni at a bargain. Wow I say.

DPA has to be one of the finest microphone companies in the world. I am so impressed with everything I have from them. Their stuff is pricey but you know what, their workmanship shows why.

I've discussed this more than once but wasn't sure what mics I'd settle on and know how the room would sound with people in it until yesterday.

Recording 14 choirs over 2 days. Largest choir will be 75 people.
