Interface FX send to amp?

Hello, newby here...

I use a PreSonus Firestudio. I want to record a direct signal from an electric guitar, but also the live (tube)amp sound mic'd up. I don't have a DI or anything, so I've been trying stuff out. I like to record the raw clean sound, so i can always add a digital amp, or send it back to an amp, and re-record it with different settings.

Hey Guys! Need Help! FX Bussing explained?

Hey guys I'm new to the forum. Pleased to meet you all. I've had a quick browse around and already I have seen a vast amount of knowledge flying about and some seriously experienced engineers who I know could help me. Funny as with most forums, I have also seen a lot of people who think they're sound engineers and aren't... Dead good :D

Monitoring with effects

I record (and occasionally record live shows) using a Mackie Onyx 1640. I use the aux sends for separate (headphone) monitor mixes for several musicians (5). When tracking, the vocalists tell me they'd prefer to hear themselves with a little reverb.

Immediate advice needed on effects of all instrument quantising in song editing!

While recording our first demo my band have hit a difficult point, our sound engineer (who normally just mixes dance tunes) thinks it would be best if we quantise everything in our tracks, drums, bass, guitar and keyboard but we play indy/rock and are worried that this will give our songs, which also have a slight funk feel, a very dance tune or chart pop feel and take away the natural groove o

What instruments/effects are used in this song?

Hey, guys. Greg Laswell is one of my favorite artists for a number of reasons, one of which being the sweeping melodies which make up his compositions. His instrumentals for many of his songs tend to have a very spacious feel, yet don't really seem to rely on an echo effect. The example I've posted in this thread is called "My Fight (For You)" from his new album Take A Bow.
