Recording Electric Guitar with Audio Interface

Newbie here!
I need to record my electric guitar onto Audacity and need some advice on audio interfaces.
I'm thinking of buying a line 6 pod HD500 and this has an audio interface on it.
Would there be any difference between an audio interface that I would buy seperately and the audio interface built into the pod?

Electric Guitar Pre-Production: Getting a Sound for a Metal Mix

Sorry if this is the wrong place for this. It seems there are other threads of this type here, so...

I am working with a modified Yamaha Pacifica (new compliment of passive pickups and heavy gauge strings) played through a VOX VT40+ practice amplifier:

Noise only when playing electric guitar, while recording

I recently bought a Shure sm57 to record my electric guitar amp. Problem is, while I am recording AND playing (so there's sound coming from the amp) there's a bzzzz when I playback what I recorded. When I stop playing (still recording) there's no buzz.
Also, when I record my own voice, there's no buzz at all.

struggling to record/play electric guitar compared to a commercial studio

hey guys I have recently been doing some recording at home with my line 6 Ux2, and have been struggling to get good guitar tones with my real fender/vox/orange amps, and get better tones and performances out of the line 6 amp farm direct sound.

What to look for when buying an electric mandolin?

Assuming I know nothing about mandolin's (not very hard) what do I look for when buying one? I like getting instruments from all of my travels, and the misses and I are going to paris and italy in a few weeks. We are looking to spend only a few hundred on this instrument. I was thinking an accordian at first, but those seem bulky and expensive. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

The Room and Electric Guitar

Hey everyone, I was just wondering, when you're recording electric guitar and you're pointing say a 57 and another mic straight at your amp, and turning it up for that nice tube breakup, does the room really matter? Are they really sensitive enough to pick up room noise or ambiance at that volume level? This has something that I have always wondered.
