I recently purchased the EMU Proteus X which came with the 0404
card...sounds great and everything...but audio cuts off (stops) when
doing various things like typing in another application...I first
noticed it when moving objects around the page in image editing and
layout software (Photoshop and InDesign...I am a graphic designer)...

I use a Behringer Eurodesk MX2442A board that I plug all of the mics for recording drums into. Right now it runs it's tape out (2-track) into a sh*tty Radioshack converter that makes it 1/8" and I plug that into the line in on my comoputer's video card.

I am using Sam 7.21 and have just upgraded to the EMU 1820. I cannot for the life of me get the two to work together. I route sends to Samplitude from the EMU PatchMix - I can then multi track record in Samplitude - but the whole time its recording (and playing back the recording) Audio glitched occur, errors (in Samplitude) occur etc. Can anyone help?

i installed per directions per windos XP and i get kernel error Ox771c76cb and then memory error OxOO16a550 anyone know what these mean? i uninstalled everything and will return tomorrow unless someone can help me out

I recently installed a Proteus X and I'm quite impressed by it. It's certainly very good value for money.

I can play it from my keyboard, a Korg M1 and it seems to work quite well.

However, I've hit a problem. I recorded a MIDI track into Cubasis VST. But I can't get it to play back through Proteus.

Does anyone know how to operate the proteus x as a vst in cubase

This decision would be based on SNR, internal computer noise isuues, A/D D/A converters (new 192's seem overkill and unproven), ins & outs, preamps , overall value/reliability, solid construction, and whatever else you all would care to add. Your input would be greatly appreciated.

Hello folks,

So I've been recording music on my PC for a few years, but I just got a new system and wanted to upgrade to a more versatile DAW. Previously I was just struggling with one 1/8th input on my basic Creative sound card and doing whatever I could to make things work. What a pain!

are there any users of the emu 1820m that can tell me if the dsp fx included can be routed to the monitor only when recording a live input, and not record to the track?
