What recording equipment (setup) to buy?

Right now, I have a couple ADATs with a Mackie 24x8 bus.

I'd like to get a new system for $4,000-$8,000 that gives me:

1. At least 12 XLR mic inputs (to record a live band)
2. Automated mixing
3. Pitch correction
4. Time correction
5. To be able to work without endless drop down menus and mouse clicks.

Some advice please on my new equipment and usage/setup

I have sort of solidified my recording set up and equipment for now. Some might remember that i was having a huge issue with deciding between a 2480 or a MAC G5 with Cubase SX 3 as my main DAW.

Well i am on the 2480 now. however i have added some additional gear to my set up and would like some advice on how best to utilize it in certain circumstances.

Recording equipment help

Its my twenty first birthday on thursday :D and my dad has surprisingly agreed to give me two thousand dollars towards my goal of getting a little recording setup going. I've already got mics, my drumset has a new high hat and symbols, I've got a good midi keyboard, but I've got to buy a new computer, mixer, monitors, compressor, etc.
