Equipment Advice for new portable tracking rig...
Hey guys,
This is my first post on your fine forum. I must confess i only discovered it a few days ago but was impressed with the community here in terms of knowledge, but primarily in experience.
Im not sure eexactly which forum to put this post in (it seems to fit the bill for a few) - so mods, please move it if you think it belongs elsewhere.

Recording equipment advise, what to save for?
i thought i'd post to try to get some suggestions on what to save for in my next couple pro audio purchases. i record mainly rock (recent projects can be heard at http://www.myspace… and http://www.myspace…). i'm currently working with the following gear:
equipment hookup
I know how to hook up a basic mobile DJ system with one amp, however when I get 4 powered speakers and a sub, do I need 2 amps or 3 and how do I hook them all together? I have this basic system below.
1 Alto MAC 2.4 Amp.
Denon DN-D4000 dual CD player
Behringer VMX-300 mixer
2 customed made speaker self powered around 850W each.

My equipment weak points critique
Hi all,
I'm just finishing up my auralex designed studio with iso room. I have some $ left over and was looking for any input into where I should invest i.e. equipment weak points. Here's my gear list.

Vintage equipment (commodore 64, atari, other things)
We just got a commodore 64 from ebay. I also bought the "Incredible Musical Keyboard" for it and another synth card from a band call Treewave. I am trying to figure out a way, if any, to mic it. I want it to go through some kind of amp as opposed to the TV output that it came with. I could mic the TV but that is going to sound really shatty.
Also the same goes for the Atari.
Equipment closet temperature.
My equipment closet is running anywhere between 80-85F . There is an HD3 rig with expansion chasis, sync I/O, 192 I/O, 4 fire wire drives, a Mojo, G5, DA88, DS-M7.1, and a vhs deck. Is this an acceptable temp range, or am I cooking my equipment? There is an air conditioning vent in there( the whole unit is in there) but not a seperate thermostat for it.

poor recording quality with great equipment?
I'm so frustrated.
(Dead Link Removed)
and a pop filter.
i record in a bedroom with a loud computer fan but i dont think
thats the problem since the vocals sound crappy, not the entire thing.
its not even near studio quality (if i wanted studio quality i just wud need a soundproof room).

Help with correct input levels and best equipment routing
I have an E-MU 1820 Digital Audio System connected to my 2.8Ghz PC. It's connected with the thick cable that comes out of the back of the E-MU (ADAT?). I'm using a Shure KSM27 microphone and Im recording in an isolated room in the basement.
