Hi everyone, this my first post, i hope i'm not too much of a newbie to you...

ok here's the deal: i have the Tascam us-122, which is pretty nice for recording guitar and voice but due to whatever reason sucks ass with MIDI. i've done quite some research and it appears to be a problem for everyone who owns it in terms of bad latency.

does anybody know what equipemt (mic, preamp, comp.,) was used for recording bruce springsteens vocals on the last LP Devils and Dust? i find it a realy great LP!

looking at my brand new computer. My, I think, hope this one will be around a while. The last one very quickly went from great to a tired dog when looking a performance.

Open my mic cabinet and look at my Sennheiser MKH406. They stopped producing them 25 years ago. Still some of my favourite tools for spot mics of woodwinds.

I need to ask pros in here several questions :):
- What music equipments do I need for the studio? (Please list them all for me because I'm new to this and I just know several of them, not much.)
- And please tell me the function of each too. :D

Please suggest the equiments for starting an pro audio studio.. . .mainly for audio ad jingle puposes, and maybe post-production..like background music and dubbing. . .

Here's the set up I'm proposing...

By selling one of my synths, my Mbox, and Aardvark DP 24/96, the whole thing should cost me about 2500-3K...

Basic idea is a set-up studio capable of recording atleast a full drum kit with the possibility additional dudes... and able to do the rest of the band after drum take.

what equipment (mastering chain) would you recommend for a budget under 2,000.00. I currently have pro tools le, wave lab 4, Wavesdiamond. what other stuff would you recommend to get a pro sound for a budget under 2,000.00

I just bought a firewire audiophile, and now I need to figure out how to set everything up...Before I used a very make shift way of recording, and now I wanna do it right.

I am using an old reciever as an amp. I have a small mixer and the audiophile.

I have all the connections and wires, but I just need a little direction...

I know absolutley nothing about recording, but I would like to start interviewing family members to begin an oral history project. I would like a microphone and recording device that would give nice sound like I hear on NPR interviews.

Like many of the people on this board, I'm interested in upgrading my studio equipment -- but only if I have to. My problem is that I'm not really aware of what's out there and what I might want or need.
