Description
FireWire is a method of transferring information between digital devices, especially audio and video equipment. Also known as IEEE 1394, FireWire is fast -- the latest version achieves speeds up to 800 Mbps. ... You can connect up to 63 devices to a FireWire bus. IEEE 1394 is an interface standard for a serial bus for high-speed communications and isochronous real-time data transfer. It was developed in the late 1980s and early 1990s by Apple in cooperation with a number of companies, primarily Sony and Panasonic. Apple called the interface FireWire.

Helpee, me firewire no workee

LOL, I can't figure this out. :o I've tried two different 1394 cards, the first was an Actiontec. Windows XP installed the driver, Device Manager shows the card as working properly, but I can't capture video! So I ran out to Staples (10 minutes before closing time) and picked up a Maxtor 1394. Same sh*t. Both Vegas Video 3, and Videowave 4 show no capture device.

FireWire drives for 828

Hi,

At MOTU's site they say Glyph M Project is ready to go (and it's got the MOTU look and rackmount). Also can be easily daisychained with the MOTU 828. The big problem here is the price.

For a couple of hundred bucks less there are some other choices like OWC, but would like to read some opinions on this issue first.
