Is there anyone that can provide me with the correct frequency for Instruments. what to cut, what to gain what instrument to compress. I am getting a lot of different frequency changes. I know that there is a standard for each instrument.

Here's a new twist on an old idea. Many months ago I posted with an idea for dynamically changing compression attack every time there was a peak in the treble frequencies (snare.) Well, I've revised that sytem to allow setting attack and release for both low bands and high bands of a single-band compressor.

It took me a few minutes to find this list, but it is helpful for tuning your instruments using a tone generator found on most DAW software...

Just out of curiosity would like to know what each of the members here on RO use for recording if the final goal the usual 44.1 16 bits...

Do you guys use 44.1, 48, 88 or 96 kHz ? And if so why ? If using higher sampling frequencies than 44.1 what dithering tools do you use ?

OK - I finally broke down and bought an RNC based on all the rave reviews in and about this site. I tested the unit out on my Drum Bus - There was an immediate and very noticeable hype in the high end and the low end all but dissappeared. Anyone else have this same expereience? I know enuf to understanding that different settings will have an effect on freq.

I know an engineer who eq's his recording with peaks at the frequencies where the ear is the most sensitive. His goal was to make the sound "Louder" with out pushing compression and limiting hard. I had never seen this. His results were O.K. sounding.
