Automatic Gain Control (AGC) is a circuit that automatically adjusts the level of incoming audio so as to optimize the record level of the receiving device. Mostly employed in low cost audio and video recorders to avoid the complication of manual adjustment.

mixer's slider or compression's gain control?

hi,
after i use a compressor there is a level drop. it is normal of couse:) But how should I adjust the volume of a track to compensate a level drop? With compressor's gain control? But what amout? Or it is better to do with track's volume slider?

gain control for Neve preamp

I'm putting together a 1272 class A from the 183 circuit and the input and output transformers. Is there anyway to avoid building the gain switch? Would a 5k pot work instead, like the one on the output?
