Groove Tubes GT-55 vs. . RODE NT1000
Hi all,
New to forum. Am songwriter/musician with home studio.
Looking at a large diaphram studio condenser mic for $300. Any feedback on Groove Tubes GT-55 versus RODE NT-1000?
My preamp is a PreSonus Eureka.
Main use for this mic will be vocals.
Thanks,
Aaron

Groove Tubes Brick - Where To Buy/Good Price
OK, everybody seems to say that the Brick is a good value. I want one. However, it doesn't seem easy to find. I did find it through Sweetwater...never bought from them before though. my usual sources don't carry it.
Anyone have any suggestions? I live in the New Jersey/New York area. Also is there a better price than $399?
Thanks!
Krel

Groove Tubes-Brick in the Wall Pt.2
I just picked up The Brick for $325 out the door. not bad eh? So now I have a dumb question. .
From the output of The Brick should I run it to the Line In or Insert on my board?

first "nice" preamp groove tubes "brick"
So i got the brick the other day and i only had a chance to work with it at a friends studio since all my gear is on location where I am doing recording for a band. We ran an AKG c1000 thru the brick on acoustic guitar and on vocals. We ran the signal straight from the brick into his aardvark and also thru the board into the aardvaark for additional gain.

ART Pro Channel or Groove Tubes The Brick?
I'm going to be using this primarly for recording electric guitar direct but also for vocals. I'll be running my pedals through the tube pre into an ADA Microcab then into my emu 1212m.
feel free to recommend other preamps if you think both of these will suck with electric guitar.

Any Groove Tubes "The Brick" users out there?
I just read on another post where someone said The Brick is basically a Vipre just on one setting. Now I doubt this is true but I have been reading where people say it makes a great tube mic preamp. I've been wanting to get a good tube pre and was just wondering how this would compare to say a UA 610 or single channel Manley? Thankx

Opinions on the Groove Tubes MD1B?
Either the Tube or FET version?
I understand that these are re-makes (or cheaper copies) of some earlier GT mics.
Musician's Friend is blowing these out and I was wondering if anyone had any experience with these mics and could describe the sonic difference one could expect between the tube and FET (the FET being describes as "warmer" in product ads).

Groove Tubes Model 66
I have been recording a female vocal. I tried my C-1 but did not it on her. I have been wanting a tube mic anyway so I thought I might bite the bullet and buy one. I thought about the tube mics from SP and also the Groove Tubes GT-66. Any thoughts? Also Guitar Center is selling A Groove Tubes Model 66 for $499. Is this the same or close to the same as the GT-66?
