Harvey Gerst has been a major-label musician (the Villagers, Sweetwater), hit songwriter (the Byrds), product designer (Acoustic, JBL), engineer, and producer. His son, Alex Gerst, is a rising star and award-winning producer. His early recordings generated interest that led to the creation of Indian Trail Studios. In recent years the Gersts have overhauled their small facility, nestled in Sanger, sleepy pastureland about 30 miles north of Dallas, Texas.

Q for Harvey or any one else: need info on an old Reali

Hi Harvey and everyone.

As I was going through my equipment closet I came across the mic above. I didn't think much about it but became curious when I did a google search and found it was reviewed in an old audio mag (the body of the review was unavailable) and was part of the equipment in a studio. Another site had someone's opinion that it was similar to an AKG 431.

Harvey, the RNMP?

Did I dream it or did I read in another forum where you said McQ was a couple weeks away from unleashing this mythic beast upon the world? If I was dreaming, please forgive me dragging this dead horse out for another round of kicking.

PS-I promise not to hound you for review daily. I'll leave that to others.

Hey Harvey...

If you're still interested in checking-out the 797 Audio CR998, just let me know when a good 2 weeks is good for you and where to send it... Also, when I get my SPA modded version from SPA, are you interested in checking that out too? If so, maybe I'll just have them send it to you... What would be another two weeks or so?

Anyhow, just let me know.
