setting up DAW based home recording studio, need advice!

--
Hello,

I am trying to set up a home studio and have some questions. Like many novices, I went into Guitar Center with a little bit of knowledge and made purchases based on their suggestions and my budget. Now, I am trying to figure out if I really have the equipment I need for my purposes and if I need to buy a new computer, etc.

Home Studio Help

I'm a beginner at home studio stuff. I recently bought a Behringer Xenyx502 Mixer with a C-1 Behringer Condenser Mic, along with an audio interface to connect it to my computer.

I would just want to know what would be the best set up of these tools to produce the best sound whether I want to record a live acoustic performance or to record a song into separate tracks.

Home Studio project - Need Help!

Hi everyone, my name is Jean, I'm 19 and I live for electronic music! 8-) I'm DJing since I'm 17 and I have a monthly 1 hour set podcast that has been running for 8 months now. I love what I'm doing but, for the last few months, I've been looking for a more creative way to make music. I want to produce my own music, but only for fun, for the beginning at least...

is a Tascam soundcard a good way to start a home studio

i have a basic drum microphone recording kit. It has 4 different microphones. I aslso have a Tascam soundcard with two mic inputs for live recording and another two inputs. I currently am thinking about getting a macbook for my recorsding laptop. is this good? and if i need more inputs should i get another soundcard and move up to a mixer?

Want to set up a home recording studio!

Yes, I am a complete newbie to recording. My basement is setup as a practice studio so I have a lot of necessary items but i know there are some things Im missing.
What I have already is a Shure SM58 mic along with 3 V-tech VT-1040 mics plugged into a Soundtech Quick Mix6 mixer with 4 big monitors. I have all the drums, guitars, amps, pianos that i could want. What else do i need?

Homemade studio desktop?

I'm planning on building a Windows based system to mostly run Sonar 8 producer for audio production in home. I am planning on mostly using it for recording of live instruments and mastering, but I will do a bit of MIDI production too. What would you guys recommend for the CPU, motherboard, Ram, High capacity Hard Drives, case and power supply?
