Help with Steinberg CI1 interface and Sequel LE2

First, I'm wondering if I'm in the correct forum... I'm fairly new... but I had my CI1 and Sequel LE2 running with some success... having fun. Then I had my computer upgraded from XP to Windows 7. In reinstalling Sequel LE2, everything seems to be restored... except the "input selection" option does not appear when I open a new track, which means I can't record.

Do I need interface? or mixer? help!

Hi I'm a little confused about what I need to set up my studio. I've had little experiences with it but have played around at a couple other studios. Right now I have a casio keyboard with a midi out and a electric guitar. I'm about to purchase a Roland MV-8000 from a pawn shop for $600 also my parents are about to buy me a new imac and hopefully I'll get Logic with it.

Tascam 1800 USB interface for my home studio

Hello, I need to buy a new interface for my home studio- Normaly things get done one track at a time. but at times a multi track jam would be very helpful. Amazon has two very bad reveiws on this piece of gear. But, they sound like the engineers aren't really pros. Not one of them mentioned Pro Tools 9 or how well this works with that platform.

Best usb audio interface for recording ONLY BASS with netbook?

I am planning to buy saffire 6 USB audio interference. I can record bass with a netbook HP mini 110-3500 with that?

Other option can be Roland V-Studio 20 (specifications say it can be use in netbooks!)

Looking for audio interface / mic preamp recommendations (spoken vocals, Shure SM7B)

Hi all! I'm putting together a home studio and am looking for some recommendations before I buy.

As for my situation, I'm recording spoken vocals for audio-only video games -- essentially radio dramas with some interactive elements. For now I only need to record 1 actor at a time, but I want my studio to support more than that in case I need multiple simultaneous actors later on.

Interface overloaded

Hi (beginner here):

I'm recording a guitar amp. I'm using a RODE NT1 thru a Peavey VMP2 pre, right to the interface (Audiophile 2496). But as I turn up the volume I get the interface input overloaded, even with the pre -20db input pad enabled.

Do I need to get into a console after the pre in order to attenuate the signal?

Thanks in advance!
