I'm about to replace my old and malfunctioning interface with a brand new one! ain't that a treat... I researched a bit into the price range that I'm willing to go for and came up with the three models below:

so i use a Avid mini mxbox interface with a MXL 990 condenser microphone to record onto pro tools 8 with m-audio studio pro 3 speakers. Now i get good sound from this set up when i'm done creating a track. but i want to take the mixing and sound quality to the next level. so i was wondering what i should upgrade to get better sound.

Alright so I am having trouble deciding which of these interface to purchase to get into recording.

I am currently narrowed it down to a Focusrite Liquid Saffire 56, RME Fireface 800 (used), or a Apogee Ensemble (used).

I am looking to record drums with a 4-mic set up.
Also recording guitar and bass at the same time would be a plus.

THere's some trouble on the interface front for me, my ensemble is installed to the mac pro tower, it was relatively straight forward too. I've got the Apogee Maestro link on my desktop and as far as the 4 XLR inputs and the 2 jack DI's go it's great to work with, I haven't really looked far past those 6 inputs yet.

Firstly, please excuse me if I do voice seemingly stupid questions. I really am starting out.

I have a Univ Audio Solo 610 preamp and AKG 414XLS. I'm a singer/songwriter and will probably just record vocal and acoustic guitar thru a condenser mic. Want to achieve best sound quality. Does interface matter? Does preamp let you bypass interface "influence"? Would garageband be all i'd need ( assuming sound quality does not suffer)?
