Recording help purchasing an interface!

Ok, I got an M-box2 for christmas, but I found that it is not going to work for what I want to record (drums, 2 guitars, bass, and vocals), so I am going to return it.

I have been looking at other interfaces, but I cant decide which to get.

The ones I have been looking at are the Alesis Multi-Mix 16 Firewire and the PreSonus Firepod.

Multiple FW interfaces with Sonar Producer 4

Hi,
I am currently using a Tascam FW1804 with Sonar Producer 4, and would like to add some more analog inputs. I am curious if there are issues with using more than one FW interface, or should I be looking at specific brands? I don't want to add another 1804, but am considering a M Audio or Edirol interface.

general questions on mixers, interfaces, preamps

Hi all, I'm in the process of getting the big picture together of what I would need for a home studio. I'm sure you all get this type of question all the time so I tried to break it down and give you specifics of what I'm asking. I would like to have the ability to record live, and still edit afterward, none of that one-track-at-a-time crap.

Problem with setting up two different audio interfaces!..

Hi.

Im trying to set up my laptop to use two different audio interfaces simultaniously.

One of them is a M-Audio Mobile USB.. and the other is a Hercules 16/12 FIREWIRE>.. The main problem is that Cubase won't let me use two drivers at once.. soo it cannot reckonize them both..

Is this possible to make it work?

recording interfaces...

i was about to purchase an aardvark direct pro q10 8 channel pci interface, having heard a few recordings done w/ one. I liked what i heard, but the company has since gone bust, eliminating customer service. i would like the MOTU HD 192 of course but dont have the loot.
i can get 2 q10's for that price. Any suggestions or alternatives? Any horror stories? Thank you.

Analog mixers vs audio interfaces

Good day,
I am wondering which would be more conducive to a better (IE clear) sound, a firewire preamp (eg the PreSonus firebox, or Focusrite Octu Pre)
OR a good analog mixer (Mackie DFX12) combined with the A/D converters on an m-audio audiophile 2496?
Which produces a higher fidelity sound?
or is the difference marginal?

Firewire Interfaces

Hi, I'm looking for a firewire interface to work with Live, Reason and Cubase (and soundforge, acid...) for live performances with my MIDI controller/synth microKorg and to play dj sets with traktor.
Furthermore I would like to record my acoustic band and make some commercial tracks.
After a research I'm interested on M-Audio Firewire 410 and the PreSonus Firebox.
