Recording live shows...
My buddies and I are playing some small shows in the upcoming months. I'm thinking it would be neat to have some live recordings, but I am unsure of the best way to go about it. I can't really afford to invest anymore cash in equipment, I've spent too much as it is...

Sennheiser E-Series, Etc, for Live Performance
While working on a client's computer, I went back through every single thread of this section of the board. Viruses are a wonderful thing, and great for the cash flow. But I digress.
Question: Anybody have experience with Sennheiser E-series, such as the E845 or E945 as SM58 replacements for live performance use?

To any and all who have experance with this board please feel free to give your openion. We have a 32 channel Crest but we need atleast 40 channels, and somthing with a very small footprint. The DM2000 seems to fit the mold if it is capable of professional quality sound... Your thoughts please...

recording live Jazz...
I am going to record a live show in a local Jazz Club next week. I have quite a bit of experience in recording Jazz in the studio but this will be the first time I record live to multitrack outside of a studio setting. What should I watch out for? Maybe some one could share some his/her experience in live recording.

Live in Rio - Rush new DVD
HI folks!
Here in Brazil people are very excited about the recent release of Rush Live in Rio - DVD.
As a big fan of this group and all the tech stuff behind their production, I also went after my DVD copy. It was released in the USA before arriving Brazil.

A Better Live Vocal Mic (for recording live) - revisite
I'm still dealing with the live recording vocal mic selection delima. We went with a beta 87a - and its a great mic - but not in this case. I think its thinning his voice out too much. (two examples) http://hummel-plum.com/ftp/tim/11s2.mp3 (slower song - quieter vox level - b87a)
mastering live taping?
Hi there,
I did a live taping of a JOhn Mayer concert (he permits taping) using a minidisc and stereo mic. I would live to dump it on my Pc and have a shot at making it sound better. Currently it sounds quite boomy in the bottom end (b/c of teh subsin the FOH) and alittle distant. Can you suggest some way of making the recording sound :
1. more upfront

A Better Live Vocal Mic
I'm thinking of moving up to a better vocal mic for some live acoustic recordings for an artist in the near future. I've been tossing around a lot of ideas - but wanted to ask around here to get opinions. I've been using an SM58 for the vocals.
Here is a clip of a show I recorded for him last year - it was with the 58 on the vocals.
