Cubase SX mixing output levels question
what mixing level should we have at the Cubase main output bus in order to have a good level to send to a mastering studio ?
should we let it pass the 0db level ?
It seems it generates a too low level like this not showing 0db peaks in wavelab ...

Audio level problems
I have a problem with my audio levels. It seems that when I playback a recorded mono track, the audio levels (visually on the meters and audibly) are not the same as when I set them before recording. They are weaker on playback. Can anyone tell me what's going on?
FYI, I don't have any plugins on these tracks...they are dry.

Levels? (home recording)
Hello Im new to the board and new to home recrding with POD XT. I have a question that I hope some one could help with. Theres about 5 different volumes to deal with. Guitar Volume ( which I thought was always full blast), Acid music master volume, track volumes, and POD Volume. Exactly how should they be set so I'm not topping it off and creating a fuzz?

The talent level of todays so called "Pro" touring
As a frequent observer on recording org and a musician for over 30 years I have seen and heard a bit in my time, I have opened shows for major acts and have recorded and played with some.
I usually don’t do or say things like I am about too, but. .
firepod low level
I just purchased the firepod yesterday and I'm having problems with getting any real level. I tried to record separately a vibraphone (with a MXL V67 with phantom power on) and vocals with an Audix OM5 and in both cases, I barely get any level on the channels I decide to record on. And I mean, barely any. I'll be lucky if the meter on the channel even lights up. What am I missing?

Take it to the next level...
A friend and I took a very keen interest in building a home studio. So far we've invested about 7 grand, or more into it. We've had good results with the gear we have and I've learnt a ton along the way. But I'm looking to take it to the next level. Not in the sense that I'm looking to make a career out of it, but as far as quality and sound goes. My current setup is:

Acceptable noise levels
Hi all,
I am doing some recording on my computer and I am getting a bit of ambient background noise while recording through a mic. Sonar records it at around -50.5 dB.
Here is what I'm using:
Desktop PC with Sonar 3 PE
Behringer B2 Pro Condenser Mic
2 ch phantom power box
Stock soundcard that came with my computer (SoundMAX digital audio)
