Ok, so I really need some help here.
First let me start off by telling you what I have.

Interface - M-Audio Firewire 410

Now let me tell you how I have it set up.
Vocal levels in the mix
How to monitor accurately vocal levels in the mix?
I have KRK ROK, a similar to Yamaha NS10 sound but not as harsh. When I do EQ, speakers are wonderful. When I have to adjust levels of vocals in the mix, I find it very difficult.

Recording levels and how they vary with bit rate/sample freq
I was wondering what the standard db level to record at was and whether it varies with bit rate and sample frequency? I've always tried to record at the highest level possible with out any distortion (around -6db); but i just read an article stating that at 24/192 it's best to have you recording peak at -12db Any ideas?
James
bass frequency levels
on the final mix of song before you send to get mastered, how much energy (volume/thickness) do you want in the bass frequencies?
let me know if I need to make this question more specific...
thanks!

Sound levels all messed up.
I have a weird, newbie question. I have a 828mkii that I use on my PowerMac G5... but, it seems incredibly too loud. I have to have it set to -30db to use it at a reasonable volume. But can't that cause weird problems?
Do most people do that?

Master fader out levels for mix down.
In Cubase, if I wanting to do an audio mix down (in order to master in Wavelab using processing), what is a safe level for the master outs? Should I keep it in the green-yellow (or can it creep into the read every so often? Should I not let it past 0db (as I can always increase it during mastering)?
