What Should I Upgrade First in My Home Recording Studio?

Hi, so I've got a pretty cheap beginning setup right now in my home studio. I have a chance to get some new gear for the holidays, so I'd like to know what you recommend I upgrade. I currently have a MXL 990 Studio Condenser Microphone (I don't have a shockmount though, is that bad?) and my USB interface is a Line6 Pod Studio UX2.

How to start recording on tape

I've taken an interest in recording on a reel-to-reel recently.

I'd love to have a better understanding of which reel-to-reel to buy.(maybe an 8 track?)
How to send audio to it(are there inputs on a reel to reel?)
And after i've recorded the audio, how to get the audio to a different format(How to dump it to pro tools)

Schoeps - CMC5 vs CMC6

On my wish list of stuff to buy is the CMC6. I've used them a few times and have had good luck with them. However, I have a friend who is selling a set of CMC5 and I was curious if the difference between the two is worth holding out for the CMC6? I am actually only worried that the roll off frequency of the CMC5 is 30Hz whereas the CMC6 is "flat" to 20Hz.

Any advice?

getting good quality sound in spite of complicating factors

I am wanting to get into podcasting with a limited budget. I want to come up with the best set up for getting good quality sound. I will be setting up my studio in a room in my house which is about 300 square feet and is fully furnished as a living room. Due to many factors, the studio must be in this room.
