Classical voice on low budget
In the next few weeks, I'll be doing a combo video/audio recording of myself singing opera arias with grand piano accompaniment. The room is an open choir room with nice but not excessive reverb.

Hello, first time poster, long time home studio musician. Hoping to get some insightful answers.

Best Products / Low budget - PC set up
Im on a really tight budget (250 - 500) and I've been doing a lot of research and it sounds to me like my best bet is the following three pieces of equipment:
1. multitrack Mixing software (download free)
2. PCI card (best sound per $ (vs. USB/firewire))
3. multi track connected directly into card (record 2 guitar, 1 bass, 2 vocal, drums)

Having trouble with low ceilings and vocals.
I moved my entire studio into a bedroom that has really low wood ceilings (7-8 feet). My vocals and acoustic guitars seem to have a lot of bass. I'm using a RODE ntk. Do you think I should move it to an area where there is vaulted ceilings? The room its in now is probably the quite room in the house. Would using an eq fix the problem?

EQ settings for live low voice
I'm having trouble with some live music in the way that we have just okay mics, and the songs we play sound pretty good, but sometimes when the vocal melody has a really low part, it gets lost in the music and you can't understand the words, which is understandable because the bass frequencies mix and mingle with the other stuff and don't get heard as much.

Trying to get low latency
I have a lot of pro audio experience dating about 10 years ago but my life moved in a different direction so I'm a bit lost. I want to achieve sub 10ms latency with guitar rig 3.

ideal speaker/driver to use as microphone for low end?
Hey all,
was just wondering what would be the best type of speaker/driver to use as a microphone to capture kick drum. Hi-fi type driver (traditionaly softer) or a firmer type, like a PA speaker and the like?
Was thinking a 10 or 12 inch, again, open to suggestions!
cheers,
SammyG
