Has anyone used the Mbox along with Pro Tools L.E.? I want to purchase it and i'm sure its a great product. I'm looking to upgrade my soundblaster audigy to the mbox with the Pro Tools software. a simple setup for use in a apartment.

I just got an MBox for PC and I got a MXL V67 mic. Whats the best way to record rap vocals? What are the best levels as some of my instrumentals come in close to 0db? Do I need an additional mic preamp/comps or are the Focusrite pre's and plugins good enough? Also, I want the vocals to "sit" in the mix well.

Advantages of Digi 002 (non-rack) over Mbox that makes it worth the extra $$?

Hey everyone --

We just recently got an Avalon 737sp for our studio to use with a Neumann TLM 103.
Previously, we just had the mic going straight into the Mbox, using its built in Focusrite Green mic preamp, and compressing with an RNC.

so i bought an mbox, scratched my head for a month and finally got around to using it (w/ powerbook g4 867 640mb ram). setup was fine, mic preamp's are pretty transparent and sound fine, but what is up with the latency! tracking is fine with the "mix" knob, but having to move EVERY track (but original 1 or 2) 164 samples back? that absolutely sucks!

so i'm now auditioning a 3rd screamer laptop for use with the mbox/PTLE package i bought, and it doesn't seem to perform very well either. do any damn laptops perform well with pro tools?aparently PT is very picky about chipsets (intel only), and i have gone to the added expense of upgrading my purchase 3 times with no discernable gain...

Now that Digidesign has released the PC version of the Mbox, what do you think is best? An Mbox with the Mac Ibook or an Mbox with a PC laptop? I have encountered frustrating crashes with Pro Tools on my Windows 98 P3 system, but have never used Pro Tools with a Mac. Is the Mac a more stable system?
