Best pair of monitors for around $500?
Hi,
I'm looking at buying a set of monitors in the $500 price range. I have a medium sized room with wooden floors, some Auralex foam wedgies on each wall, and bass traps in the corners.
I've looked at these ones so far:
KRK RP-8 Rokit Powered 8 Reference Studio Monitors
Event Tuned Reference 8 TR8 Active Monitors

Do I NEED monitors
I just got my firepod today and after lots of fooling around have finally got it to work with Sonar 4. ASIO can be a huge pain in the ass. Anyways, in my old band we used to record everything into an Alesis mixer then from there we would put it into the mic input on our computer.

Studio Monitors
Hi my name is Scott. I'm new here. This might not be the right place to post this, if it isn't please don't be too hard on me. I recently bought a Roland VS2000. I love it. Without getting rediculously in my pockets to get everything I need for the modt part for a descent recording. Anyhow, it came with a couple of monitors, DS-7.

I'm trying to decide on dual video monitors for my home studio. Does anyone have any advise? I found this one on Best Buy.com Here are the specs. The price is $399... pretty cheap considering other monitors of the same size. Just wondering if anyone can give me a little help.

My quest for new monitors
Please pardon a potentially lengthy post.
I have been searching for a while now for new monitors for mastering. I enjoy my NHTs, but I find them to be a tad forward in the upper register, translating into fatiguing sound after a few hours of working on them. Also, they are phenomenal at sane levels, but when pushed, they tend to compress.
