ideal speaker/driver to use as microphone for low end?
Forums
Hey all,
was just wondering what would be the best type of speaker/driver to use as a microphone to capture kick drum. Hi-fi type driver (traditionaly softer) or a firmer type, like a PA speaker and the like?
Was thinking a 10 or 12 inch, again, open to suggestions!
cheers,

MICROPHONE FOR RECORDING OF SYMPHONY ORCHESTRAS?
Forums
Greetings! I am a professional conductor who wants to get decent recordings of the orchestras I conduct when travelling. I had an Audio-Technica AT822 and a Sony DAT walkman, which did pretty well. I have replaced the SONY with a Korg MR1 and the microphone, unfortunately, was lost during travels.

Microphone help
Forums
I am opening up a recording studio with a modified 003 console from black lion audio. I am in the process of purchasing the remainder of my equipment. I recently sold off my old RODE K-2. I have around $900 to spend on a mic. My first pick is the Mojave Ma-200. Has anyone heard this mics' character because according to reviews it has one ? Thanks.

Hi,
microphone for distorted guitars

does anyone know of an up market mic designed for heavily distorted guitars, something that will retain the warmth and richness of the tone while not hardening at higher sound levels?

male vocal microphone choices
Forums
I am trying to decide what mic I want to purchase solely for vocals. It will be for male vocals, I am looking for something not too dark but not harsh on the high end either, here are some of the mics I have researched and considered. Any advice and personal experience with these mics would be greatly appreciated.

Special Microphone Suggestion?
Forums
I'm looking for a microphone that has a somewhat 'telephonic' sound. Lo-fi, even naturally overdriven sounding. It would be used for an 'effected' vocal sound... peppered into the songs as opposed to being the staple vocal tone.
