Here's an oddball question - Microphone for "professional" movie making
I am working with a friend who is producing a *low budget* movie. As someone who has some audio experience he is relying on me to produce his movie score and also be his audio engineer for filming.

Hi microphone lovers! I wrote some articles and created sound clips for a bunch of microphones on Gear-Wiki. I thought I'd share the links as I hope this can be useful.

Connecting an EQ to a microphone pre-amp.
I have an 8in/8out audio interface. I'm planning on buying a 2 channel microphone pre-amp to spice up 2 channels on the interface. I wanna hook up an equalizer to the pre-amp so it's not just a flat signal. I'd have to go OUT of pre-amp to audio interface IN to activate pre-amp. Do I connect the OUT of the EQ and connect it to the IN of the pre-amp on the back?

Blue Yeti microphone peaking
Hello,
I'm currently trying to do some vocal recording with my new microphone (blue yeti - best mic I could afford etc etc).
My problem is I have a rather large voice (professional classical singer) and I'm not sure how to set hardware/software up so I don't peak as much while I try and record assorted pieces.
I'm using Adobe Audition with the Blue Yeti.

Triangulation with Microphone Array
I posted on this board a while back about what equipment to use to locate a singing bird within a microphone array. I purchased stand alone units from wildlifeacoustics.com to do everything I need (omnidirectional mics, gps for time syncing, and sd card for .wav file storage). We are going to have a total of 6 microphones.

Microphone sensitivity help
Hey everyone,
Could someone help me out with this/walk me through how it's solved?
The Beyer M-160 has a sensitivity rated as
-52dB (0 dB = 1mW/Pa)
and a rated load impedance of 200ohms.
The Sennheiser MD-421 has a sensitivity given as
-54dB re: 1V/µbar.
Which of these microphones is the more sensitive, and by how many dB?
Thanks!

Synchronized Microphone Array--Ideas and Tips Needed
Hi,
I am going to start off by saying I am a pHD student in evolutionary biology, so my knowledge of acoustics and what not are minimal at this point. I am enrolled in an engineering noise control class this semester to fix that.
