Looking to devise a repeatable microphone comparison test.

I am looking for ways to set up a repeatable microphone test for all of the microphones that my company offers, which will remove any performance variables.
I was thinking about tracking as transparently as possible (Earthworks or Brauner KHE ) into Earthworks 1022 into Avid HDIO16 and then perhaps Micing the output of this performance through a Genelec 8050.

Multitrack microphone "build-up"

So, if you use the same mic over and over to build up layers of sound, say, vocals, what can we do to prevent that "buildup" that occurs as the mic's particular eccentricities become emphasized?

Solving this problem would be a great boon to those of us who are very limited in our mic selection. I only have 3 mics, and only one of those is a pro mic, and it is an SM57!

Measurement Microphone Suggestions

Hello, I'm a student looking to build an impedance tube setup and need some expert knowledge on the microphones. For those unfamiliar with impedance tube they basically setup a standing wave along the length of the tube and the pressure is measured at various locations which in turn allows you to calculate the acoustic impedance at the sample end.
