microphones for home studio
If you could start over, what would you choose?
Howdy folks. I haven't done anything out of the box for over 10 years, too much traveling. Just DI'd guitars... I'll be back to recording soon enough, standard rock/pop stuff/r&b stuff - guitars, drums, bass, vocals and the miscellaneous acoustic instrument.

Anyone tested or used the Aston Microphones Spirit yet?
Maybe I'm in the market for a new mic, and a friend of mine just bought two Aston Origins. These seem to slightly differ from the spirit ones. Logical, it's a different beast. Anyway these sound good as I know now, but how do you guys feel about the Spirit? Is it worth the money? I have a RODE Nt1a right now, but am not to happy about it - to harsh. To much aggregated highs.

An interesting article from Pro Sound Web. It's apparently an excerpt from Bruce's book Make Mine Music.
