Only getting sound out of one monitor. can someone help?
I purchased a pair of m-audio studiophile BX5 monitors and hooked them up to my m-audio 410 firewire audio interface. The problem is that I'm only getting sound out of one of the monitors. The TRS inputs are running from the monitors to the analog 1 and 2 inputs. Apparently the analog 1 input is doing its job, but no luck with the second.
Outboard EQ for monitors?
I got these Nady model 250 50/50w biamped near field monitors from my home recording studio. They sound very muddy to me. If I EQ down the base up to 160hz and raise up the treble, they sound better. Problem is, I drive a 2nd pair of JBL speakers off the same audio output (Sound card on PC) and the JBLs sound great to my ears(full size passive JBLs with Yamaha 100W amp.)

One more question about studio monitors
I am relatively new to the business and just blew up one of my old Alesis Monitor ones. After going to a few shops around, I realized that I really needed a good pair of passive monitors. Those Alesis really weren't really up to snuff. I have seen some Genelecs, Events and Dynaudio. I have a relatively large control room and would be using the new monitors for both tracking and mixing.

I havent seen any reviews yet, but I have heard a few good things.
I do own a few carvin products and I have no complaints and only praise on these. (power amp and guitar)

Oh god... not another thread about monitors...
Greetings all... I'm new to the forum, and hopefully will become a useful regular. Studied audio in college and although my day job lands me more in multimedia development, my love is still in the music, which is my side job. But enough about me!
to jules, how monitor PT output?
hey jules,
i heard in a previous topic that you use to monitor your mix with a stereo PT monitor. I guess you do this with an aux stereo input, busing Master fader to it, then output through converter etc..
I do this way too as i don't have a decent console or stereo monitor-pre to drive my speaker's amp.
