Yamaha MSP5s vs. . HS50?
Right now the Resolv 80a's are waaayy to boomy and flabby to get accurate mixes in my oddly shaped room. I'm ditching them for something smaller, more accurate and able to be revealing at low volumes.
I'd like to stay within $500-700 for active monitors. Nothing larger than a 6.5 inch driver.

Please help, I need active near fields w/ smaller footprint.
Hello, I am in a situation here, After working for a while with a pair of Mackie hr824's that I'm pretty pleased with, I need to swap them for something with a smaller footprint. Iv'e been looking into the blue sky 3 way system,(system 2?), but I havent heard all too much about them, and what I have heard hasnt been so great.
Which near-field active monitors for under £ 1000 ?
Hello again, folks,...
Nearfield monitor position?
I always position my nearfield monitor straight, without any angle, I now set up a 5.1 system but I would like keep on mixing stereo project on the same system. Now that my L & R are angle to satisfy the surround positionning, is it a problem to have it in angle instead of a staight facing position?

Accurate near-fields
I thought I might try to flatten my near-fields, using a 15-band stereo EQ and a SPL meter. Will it be worth the effort?

Near-Fields or Headphone Monitors?
I'm starting a little laptop studio for electronic music. I will be recording vocals and guitar for loops as well. My room is basically a perfect square... and I can't do any renovations... do I just try to find some nearfields and get a correct placing for them... or use my pair of studio headphone moniters... (yep, I know about the various nearfield monitor myths... )

Anyone here using flush mounted nearfields?
According to Genelec, flush mounting monitors is the best way of monitoring, also with small speakers.
http://www.Genelec.com/support/faq/faq19.php
As I am about to construct my new project studio, I was thinking about flush mounting my nearfields (Genelec 1030a) in front wall.

Soffit mounting nearfields?
After much reading here and elsewhere I will most likely be getting a pair of Event TR8's for my home studio. The cheaper ones($600 CAN), not the professional model($1200CAN).
Anyway, it is my intention to soffit mount them. In my studio that would place them 7 feet apart. This of course has me 7 feet from each of them to form the equallateral triangle.
