Near Field Monitoring
I am not sure if I should post this question in this forum or not but here it goes... I record in my house (rock bands mostly, record in one room and mix in a section of a large bedroom) using a DAW with Nuendo 2.0 and a pair of NS10's with a Hafler power amp and gotten very good results at this point.

Yet another Nearfield Monitor Thread
First of all, hello to everyone as this is my first post on these forums although I've been lurking for a while :P
I've read through the existing monitor threads but would like to add details about my setup/future setup, music style and budget so I can get the best information.
The stuff I've already decided on are:

EQing a room with nearfields
I've read that it is not recommended to EQ a room if you're using nearfield monitors. I've also read that it IS recommended to EQ a room if you're using nearfield monitors.
I've been mostly doing indie mastering (and some mixing), and just wondered what people thought about EQing the room (on top of treating it, of course) to get the flattest possible response.

Yamaha MSP5 vs. . KRK
I'm looking to purchase some Yamaha msp5's based on my budget and a recent article/review from Kurt. They're on backorder now, so while I wait I'm just making sure that this is my best bet.
I'm using them for basic rock-type music (drums, bass, elect, acoustic, keyboard, organ, vox, etc).

Recommended nearfields?
Hi. I am looking for a pair of passive, magnetically shielded (have to be, due to proximity to PC monitors) nearfields. I have a budget of about £200. My brother had a pair of Alesis Point 7's, which seemed OK. I need my monitors to be small like these. Any help would be gratefully received.

near-fields for my DAW: recommendations?
I've heard that in a cramped environment such as the one I work in, the magnets between a pair of near-field monitors and the computer monitor can interfere with each other. Are there any near-fields available specifically for someone working with DAW's. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Spirit Absolute 2
Hi everybody,I'd like to have some feedback on the Spirit Absolute 2...
I cannot say i am a totally unlucky guy...some friend of mine who is leaving the country kinda of gave me a pair of Absolutes 2 and Samson Servo 170 amp...so the days of hi-fi monitors are finally over...
I know that the spirits are already a piece of museum...but mine are brand new! she never used it...

RO Yamaha MSP5 review
Hi Kurt,
As a MSP5 user myself, I happy to find a good review from you on this monitor.
I am pleasantly surprised as well for you to find them to be good in the low end response as well.
Care to share with me the room condition where you tested this monitors? How far apart where they and how loud did you tested out.

Near-field Monitors positioning.
OK, I've heard everyone say to place your Nearfield Monitors in an equilateral Triange to your listening position. I'm fine with that.
But I also remember concerns with Phase distortion when speakers are angled towards the center.
So, which do you prefer?
A) Nearfields pointing STRAIGHT OUT, parallel to each other...
