1.Do I need a soundcard?I only need the headphone out and line in connections.The mother board I plan to buy has a 24/44.1 audio chipset.

I want to know I purchased a new set of lights 2 vertigo, tripod and t-bar with c-clamps, but do not know how to setup the vertigos with the clamps. I tried but doesn't hold. Am I doing something wrong? Is there a tutorial on the web to teach me to set it up? Thanks!

I want to transfer my ADAT recorded tapes to my pc. Then I will mix using cakewalk or some other pc based mixing software. I am thinking of using the EMU 1212 which has an ADAT in out card. Will I be able to move the files over and store them on the hard drive? If so what types of files are they saved as? Wave Files?

I have recorded with othe projects in the past, but this time it looks like I'm gonna be the "engineer" and I'm pretty excited about that. I have a lot of interest in recording and I'm anxious to learn. However, I'm a little short on gear and don't know exactly what to get to maximize my budget.

i m so neww in recording, i have a band, and we tryin to record a demo at home, we use a direct box to record guitar and bass and a sampler software as drumer, drums sounds really cool, but whatever we try guitars and bass sounds like a live situiation, i donno why, can anybody help ?

Hay people I'm a newbie in mixing so i need your help with compressing. I readed a lot of books, and they have nice explanations how to eq, or use deley... but with compressors its a diferent story, they just say put comp. here and there and thats it, maybe they explain whot is ratio and all that but its still doesent mean nothing to me when i dont know how to use it...
