Plugins loading down my system
Hey,
I use a laptop for my DAW and the power is quite lacking, especially when it comes to using plugins.
Has anyone ever used a seperate computer to take some of the load of plugins? can this even be done.
I saw that Waves has a hardware solution that uses ethernet cable to connect instead of USB, Firewire, etc. It's a bit too pricy for me right now.

can some explain to me exactlt how the Uad by UA work?
I mean I know that it frees up processing power in your computer for plugins, but is it supposed to replace external units(COMPS/EG/etc.)

Best TDM Reverb Plugin for Pro Tools
Hi!
I'm in the market for a TDM Reverb plugin for Pro Tools and was wondering what the 'word' out there is on the best ones.
I would be mostly using it to enhance our Classical music (acoustic instrument) recordings.
Any input is greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

SansAmp.. the plugin or hardware?
Hey guys --
I'm extremely interested in purchasing SansAmp.. and noticed you can either purchase the external hardware from Tech21 or the plugin version from Bombfactory.
I'm wondering if there is a difference between the two and which one i should go with?
Thanks in advance ---

Could software plugins take over hardware gear?
Looking at all the growth in the effects plugins in the last 2 years, some of them are better than the hardware effects units, I was wondering if software compressors would meet with the quality of hardware compressors anytime soon. Do you think it's possible? If not, please tell me why.
Server based plugins
Hello all, I have a number of different plugins of the VST and DX flavor, I am often adding to this collection both VST's and VSTi's on a daily or weekly basis. The I also have a number of systems which I use for running different plugs and audio apps. All computers are networked on a 100Mbps lan with a server as central storage point.
