I'm looking to upgrade my PC, partly because I can't seem to get rid of clicks/pops from my MOTU firewire... Tried just about everything.
And of course I'd like a faster machine for my Cubase use...

Anyone using a combination of the 828 and UAD-1, with no problems? and if so - which Mobo/CPU do you use?

i know there are dozen of virtual tape delays out there. but i was looking for a good echoplex sounding delay, in plugin form.

I just upgraded from a Mobile Pre, and I have used Delta a few years old, and have never had a problem with this before. I can't monitor the plugins anymore. They are there during playback, but where are they whe I record. I looked in both manuals and I can't find anything... I am wondering if I have forgot to set something, or something I (obviously) don't know about?

I am stuck on which one to buy... I would like to hear some personal opinions on these three. Which would be best for mastering?

I am on a tight budget but need some way of running a lot of effects on my tracks. The UAD-1 has been suggested as the best option, however I don't know whether it is worth my $$$ to go ahead and get the studio pack. I think from the website that the project pack will suit my needs just fine. I typically use reverbs, compression, eq and limiters. What do you guys recommend?

I was working on a song and threw a plugin on one of the vocals. the output was perfert...then I unplugged the plugin and destructively put the compressor on the vocal (altering the wave file) and it came out dull. My question is, is it better to just work with the plugs and not alter the wave file?

I am interested in these 2 different options for my FX. I feel like I am starting to hear some CPU sputtering in my mixes...its very slight but annoying none the less. Which are the best and will the cheaper models have the same processing power as the mor expensive models?
