guitar plugin question
does anyone know of any good plugins for making a DI guitar sound mic'd? is there any plugins that control stereo imaging? I just want to push the guitar back in my mix, it sounds way to up front. reverbs help on clean tone but sound like crap with heavy distortion. I live in an apartment building so Micing a cabinet is not an option.
thanks in advance

how many plugins can you run on your mac/pc
just bought a mac dual 2.5 with 1536 ram
testing my computer i have been mixing a song with around 35 tracks (around 18 max at the same time) with around 40 plugins and some 15 track automations! ocasionally the processor clips but it manages fine the load!
I use digital performer 4 and latency is almost none!
what about yours?

saturation plugins, what are you using?
Anyone listened to the vocals on "five for fighting". Of course this is where the stiff ol purists are going to go off about voice, mic, pre, bla bla bla ... But there's more in that vocal sound, it's lo mids are saturated to bursting. You can hear the difference on a few of the tracks that have no saturation.

Timeworks Reverb-X & 4080L Plugins
Hey all, just wondering if anyone has used these and if so, how did you like them? How are they as far as sound quality and CPU usage? Do they comepare to Waves RVerb and TruVerb?
Peace

Compression plugins for Pro Tools LE 6.4 on MAC OSX
I really like the new Digi EQ III, but the program is severley lacking in a useable compressor and limiter plugin . Can anyone recommend affordable (or free!) plugins for the MAC OSX? I'm particularly interested in a multiband compression plugin for the main stereo bus.
Thanks!
Tony
"mastering" plugins for pro tools le 6.4 on mac os
I should start by saying that I believe in getting a proper recording professionally mastered before release...
But I need some affordable plugins that are better quality than the stock digi plugins. This is for "home mastering" mixes to be given to fellow musicians, etc.. I'm pretty happy with the new EQIII that Digi just released, but the stock compressors and limiters...
I want some big fat CPU hog Plugins
I know a lot of plugin designers have to keep the CPU usage on their plugins to a minimum, but I wonder how much better the plugs could be if they just went ballz-out with as much CPU usage as is necessary to make the best possible sound. The main thing I am looking for is EQ and bus compressor.
