I've been having a horrible problem lately with the vocals I've been recording. It sounds like there is an extremely narrow 10+ dB peak at around 5kHz on every vocal I record. This absolutely destroys all sibilance, especially s, t, and d sounds. In fact, it's so pronouced that I can even hear a harsh whistle when someone takes a breath.

i recently purchased a Tascam us122 to record guitar and vocals onto my computer. my problem is that when i plug my microphone (an Audio-Technica ATM63HE) into the XLR port the vocals arent recorded in stereo but only on one side (channel?). this happens when i plug it into both the right and left side XLR ports.

hello,

I'm really knew to recording, i hope to be able to eventually just record really solid demos for my band.

I have a fire pod, a pretty nice comp and some mics.

My problem is in my software, When i check VST inputs it shows me 1-8 like it shoudl with my fire pod, but it will only let me assign audio tracks to input 1 or 2.

any one else had this problem?

i just got a new soundcard with a line in. i fixed my previous problem with volumes, but now there is a constant hum with static clicks and pops continuously coming out the speakers. the onboard original soundcard is disabled but still in the computer. the buzzing is for sure coming from interference from inside the machine. any idea on how i can fix this?
