I'm new to the recording game and this site has been a resourceful tool. I just purchased an m-box 2 and after connecting a mic to it I'm able to record but with nothing being picked up. I tested the mic and it works fine. I plugged a midi keyboard and also tryed to record to no success.

I'm kind of new at setting things up in a studio, so please bear with me. I'd really appreciate any help I can get.

I just bought a Tascam MSR16S tape machine. I'm having trouble getting it set up, and I'm hoping that someone here can help me.

I just finished mastering my first 10 dialogue CDs. They sound flat but LOUD just as requested by the customer. (yuck) Anyway, I give them the CDs burned with Toast at 2x on my MAC G4. Then all hell breaks loose, the CDs only read to the eighth track on the customer's little ghetto blasters. The rest of the entire recording continues after, but on the same index.

hi, I've recently bought a new pc (Supermicro H8DCE mobo, two AMD 265 dual opteron,) and I had
a strange problem. Even with a simple program (winamp) the system starts playback at more speed
at certain time. Do you know what can cause the problem? I use a Fireface 800 on a Texas Intruments
PCI express fireware card. Thanks all in advance.

My band just recorded some songs in the studio, and we have some difficulties with mixing the guitars. The songs where we use acoustic, and clean guitars sounds really good, but the songs with overdrive/ crunch guitars sounds very muddy. This is really quite strange because the guitars sounded really open and raw while we where recording them, but they just sound tame in the mix.

I am using a powermac G5 / digi002 and I am having a problem hooking up the digimax lt with the 002. I have had the unit for a few months but didn't need it until now. The digimax hooks up via lightpipe...when I arm the track in Pro Tools and select the digimax inputs the line clicks/clips - even when I don't have a mic/instrument hooked into the input.
