Recording Non- Conventional Percussion Instruments

Hi everyone. I'm starting to record a musical/theatrical proyect called TEKEYE, from Bogota Colombia. The recording is only for the musical part, some of the instruments that will be recorded are: Plastic Trash cans, basketballs, brooms, matches, pans, water cans etc. It is very similar to the STOMP format.

drums & percussion tools - Roger Linn - Akai - Top 40

In the 70's 80's and 90's I used The Linn Drum and Akai's MPC series for drums in most songs. Most Top 40 I listened to back then used programmed drums with midi.
Why? Once you appreciate how simple and, IMO great quality samples sound in pop music, it is really hard to look back. All I can say is, thank you to Roger Linn.

Recording Acoustic Percussion

I had started a thread here the week before Chritmas on this subject. I understand some threads were lost due to a bug in the system. The topic was recording acoustic percussion and a number of useful techniques were suggested. Unfortunately I did not save the info before it dissapeared but actually between remembering suggestions and my own experience the session went real well.
