Piano Recording- please comment on the recorded sound
I was experimenting with mic placement trying to get the best recorded sound on my piano. I am relatively new to recording, am on a limited budget and I am not a piano player. I am simply noodling around to record the sound.
Good microphone for recording piano [On a budget]
Hey guys, first off thanks for reading this in advance! I'm looking to purchase a microphone to record my piano playing that I will be uploading to youtube. I will be playing pop songs (e.g. Trouble by taylor Swift, Marvin's Room by Drake etc.) so not your typical jazz/classical music.
What do you think of the piano?
I have a big festival coming so I tracked my daughter on this and did some experimenting. One song processed slightly different 3 times.
What do you think of the "sound" of these ?

Measurement mic for Piano Tuning Software?
Much disputed! The engineers and piano tuner/designers of "TuneLab", "Verituner," "Sanderson Accutuner" etc etc--all high-endpiano-tuning programs tell you, basically, NOT to spend money on a measurement microphone.

Any Idea Of Fair Price For Raw Piano Recording Composition?
Hello everyone,
Pedal Noise from Grand Piano
I'm currently attempting to record a grand piano, and have run in to a few little hick ups. To give you an idea of my set up... I have one Shure SM81 mic which is running through a lower end M Audio interface. I wish I could record it in stereo, but this is all I can afford at the moment.

Getting an ambient "dreamy" soundtrack piano sound
I've been trying to get that typical dreamy piano sound for some time now with little results. It's often used in film soundtracks and such, a few notes high up the keyboard that have a lot of reverb/ambience and perhaps a little echo. Most of the time with strings backing. I'm not totally sure, which is why I'm posting here.

I had just connected it and recorded a clip with it and noticed that it took about 1 second for me to hear the note i played after I hit the key. I just try to reconnect the piano so I could tell you the steps i took, but I could'nt remember what i did.
