Hi I am new to recording and have downloaded Pro Tools first to get an idea of how to use the software. I just want record Guitar/Vocals to start with, I have a Soundcraft Signature 12 Desk that I'm using as a interface. The Pro Tools doe's appear to recognize the interface but doesn't recognize individual channel ie. where guitar or mic is plugged in so cannot pair the Track to the right channel. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
If I get a Focusrite 18 in / out
What are the other connections needed to Setup Pro Tools.
Hi, I'm glad someone here might be able to help me. I just bought Pro Tools. It won't let me start the application until I activate my AIR plugin. I tried activating it and the activation number is already used it max number of times. I don't even want the plugin anymore. So, I already tried deactivating the plugin in my iLok manager and it won't let me deactivate it.
Can someone direct me so I can remove it from my computer?
This would be great guys!
Keep Jamming :)
Hello everybody, in recent months I have been investing some time to find ways to speed up the creative processes within DAWs.
I analyzed and developed some very interesting tricks for Pro Tools 12, which can save you much of the time taken to perform normal or complex functions, avoiding distractions and keeping the focus on the creative flow.
Check my article below, I hope it will be helpful! :)
First and foremost you need to know that I am the least techie sav person on the planet. Having said that, I have done my homework and trying to get my new pre amp with my compressor into the interface to work but for some reason when I go to record, I get a flat line in my track. When I plugged the mic directly into the avid solo interface no probs. But Since I ve tried to hook up the preamp and compressor... everything appears to be working, but protools is not recording it! I have double checked the way I should plug everything and its correct????Please help......
I have an 08 dual xeon Mac Pro running Pro Tools 10.3.1-ish.
I use the Mbox Pro as an interface bc, well, I think it's alright, and I'm not large enough to need a rack mount.
Using Roland TD-11's, running the 1/4" to 1/4" into channels 1 and 2 of the Mbox Pro, cranking the gains on it, cranking the gain on the armed track, and the volume of the TD-11's is still low. It's not peaking anywhere, it's just too low no matter how much you gain up.
Dear fellow members,
This weekend i was tracking guitar and i came across something really weird.
We overdubbed guitars over some drums track and while we were recording, every takes (well almost) sounded good and on time. But when we hit playback, everything was out of time...
So i spent a lot of time moving regions forward.
So This morning, i did some tests, and i found out That if i want to listen to what has actually been recorded, i had to close the session and open it again.
Don't shoot the messenger and don't flame out on me, either.
This is simply a public service announcement.
" Pro Tools First".
And yes, it's free. No catch.
Not a trial, either, it's fully functioning.
A cursory reading of the description seemed somewhat similar to that of other major DAW manufacturer's free versions of their programs.
