I just bought two Mics a Shure KSM44 and a SM7b now I just need too get a nice quality matching preamp to go with them. one of my worries is too get enough good clean gain from the preamp for my SM7b Mic .which I know is going to take a lot of gain 60 to 70db any good seggestions to power it? ...I found a good used Grace within my budget. I would appreacate your advice and suggestions?

I need to buy a male Vocal mic. I’m between a base and tenor vocals using this mainly for recording and using also in country music chat rooms. I’m willing to spend 300 to 450 US Dollars on this high quality mic. (Used /E-Bay is ok too) I’ve been looking at many potential mics because I’m also recording using a mixer preamp and recording software (Adobe Audition 3.0) and (Reason).

I'm looking for an affordable yet versitile DI box system. I'd want to pay about $40 per, maybe more. It all depends on quality.

What is a good quality to record at? I've been recording at 41 mhz and 16 bit. It sounds alright? Would it make a big difference if I bumped it up to 48khz and 24 bit or something? What does a normal studio record at?

We produce message-on-hold programs featuring music and voice-overs. We used to always use external players that connected to phone systems using an RCA connector, and they sound great. Now, several of our new clients would like to use their phone system's built-in on-hold capabilities.

I was just wondering if anyone could tell me what equipment was necessary for putting together an analog studio for recording?

Obviously I would need a mixer, but is it possible to simply play through it and record to PC or some other high quality recorder? Or do I need something in between? And is Mackie a decent brand to go for?

I've got a quick question. How come when I post my music up on myspace it sounds different? ...is there any way I can keep it from losing quality and loudness cuz it losses that too...

I have a question about cables. What is the difference between qood quality cables other than that they won't last as long? Is there a BIG difference with the sonic quality?

Anyone with experience or working knowledge of Behringer PAs, let me know how you rate the brand. How would you compare it to other brands like Yamaha, Mackie, for rock bands gigging in small clubs.
