Drum machine recommendations to be used with acoustic kit

I want to add some flexibility to my acoustic kit when I play live. Ideally, a drum machine (or midi interface to sampler ), 2-3 padsand 1-2 acoustic triggers) to be used for specials sounds (persussion, hand claps, different snare sounds, hand drums...). Want to keep it simple as well. Like the Roland SP20 - a bit expensive though.

Recommendations on software vs. . rack gear for voice?

I was all set to plunk down my credit card down on a Focusrite Voicemaster Pro . . . but then got to thinking: Adobe Audition (the sequencer I'm using) has a compressor, de-esser, expander, EQ, reverb, and even plugin tube effects in software (all of which can be saved as an "effects rack"), why would I want the VM Pro instead of Audition with a simple (but good) pre and an interface card?

software that supports ASIO? any recommendations?

Hey guys, I have the MOTU 828 interface, and I've been using n-track, simply because it is cheap and supports ASIO. It is very unstable for some reason. I use it only to record my tracks, then use adobe audition to engineer. It constantly locks up my computer, which no software has ever done before. I'm thinking it's time to upgrade. Any suggestions? Thanks!

tube recommendations?

Hi All, I'm told by a new friend made via RO that changing the tubes out in my ART Pro MPA can result in pretty decent preformance improvement. This year's shopping list is all about really good pres and comps, but for now, a cheap way to improve what I have sounds enticing. Any thoughts on different tubes in each channel for diffeent flavors? Thanks.
