Need advice on the best cassette recorder for voice audio

Hello,

First, I'm a recording newbie and humbly bow to the experts who will read this post. I'll probably use wrong terminology for some of this, so please bear with me.

I'm trying to find the best tape recorder (cassette recorder) for recording voice audio (without breaking the bank!).

Stand alone CD recorder.

Can anyone offer me some advice regarding getting a stand alone CD recorder for our new facility?

We have a budget of approximately £550 and our usual supplier has suggested a choice between the HHB830 burnit or the Marantz CDR510. We had originally wanted a Tascam CD-RW 2000 but have been told that they are now out of production.

Computer system MUCH better than Multitrack Recorder?

Howdy everyone,

New to the forum but not recording. Unfortunately, I come from the pre-existing multitrack recording studios from wayyy back. Every recording device I have ever owned was a multitrack recorder from the cassette porta-04 studio to my current Roland digital 8-track.

question for recorder man- overheads- capsule direction

Hi Recorderman, I'm sure you're tired of getting called out, but I have a question that I could not find in your instructional threads. Using your technique with 2 cardioid condensers (Large diaphragm), which direction do you aI'm the capsules? (I could only find your info on actual mic placement)

THANKS!
