Well, first off, I want thank everybody who participates in this thread (and apologize to those who my newbness annoys).

My band has been playing together for around half a year now (folk, jazz, rock). And it would be great if we could record or sessions. Use these recordings for promotions, selling, blah blah blah.

How would a professional studio typically record a multipiece "rock" band in terms of what order to track the different instruments in, if the goal was to get a fairly high quality recording.

My daughter volunteered me to record the local HS marching band. (She's drum major.) They were only looking for a CD to practice marching to, so it was a rush job. I recorded them in their practice room which has surprisingly good acoustics. (At least I was surprised.) Never done this kind of thing before, and I don't have the worlds greatest equipment for it.

My band has been working on recording live in our little studio and I had a question about volume. i heard that when a cabinet is turned up loud it makes the bass notes peak higher. is this true? If then should we record our disstorded amps not cranked to get a more even sound?

So I am helping some people at a local church to record their band/choir. I wish I had more experience to offer, but instead I'm just running off instinct.

extreme Noob needing advice. I need to record video and audio of a live rock/metal band performance.

We have two camcorders and a laptop.

What I want to know is, do you'll recommend taking an out from the mixer to the camcorder... or recording via the laptop.

I am in a pop/rock band of five and am thinking of buying new software and hardware to be able to record in a nice, efficient way.

We just recorded an outdoor band concert. It was something we do on a yearly basis. I get one shot at doing the concert with no rehearsals and no retakes. This year's concert came off very well except that they "added" some vocalist to the program. They did this without letting us know about it in advance.

Do anyone know how to do the setting for GarageBand to Record to a longer length?

wat i hv experience is,it only can record miximum in 33mins...is it the maximum?
