Is it worth the switch from Focusrite 428 to API 3124+ ?

I'm sure this is a fairly ignorant question, and it may even be slightly off topic, but here goes. I have a Digitech GNX3 guitar floorboard, and I have used the included drum tracks to make several demos, but now that I am trying to record my songs for real, I need REAL drum tracks.

I'm about to record a drum kit. Since my tracking room is a small one (2.0 m wide 5.0 m long 2.5 m high) there's no other chance than placing the kick drum so close to the wall.

What kind of problems may occur in this situation and what are your recommendations to overcome.

I did my first real drum recording last night. Hard rock/metal song.
Drums were tuned soso. Next time ill try a hand at tuning myself. also
I would have liked to experiment a lot more, but time was at a premium.

what is the cheapest recording device for a computer than will record 10 drum mics to seperate tracks? ive been searching the internet and have yet to find a decent priced one. the 1010LT is a good price for what it is, but it isn't 10 IN its only 8IN and 2 MIDI (which i won't use). or maybe a solution is i could use 2 5IN cards? someone please help

Hello everyone. I've been a lurker on here for a little while, reading and absorbing a lot of great advice on a great online forum that I'm really excited to have found. I don't remember replying anywhere else yet, although I could have.. so this may very well be my first post here. Yay. :)

ok, i'm very limited, but my band is trying to make a demo. i have a the M-AUDIO Delta 10/10LT interface, and Logic is my platform.

my selection of mic's are:
3 sm 57's, the Audix Drum mic 6 pack(2 condensers overheads, 3 tom mics, one kick) i also have a regular seinnheisor vocal mic.

Has anyone had any experience recording a fully miked drumset (7-Mics or more) to a stereo track? If you have, please share your experience and techniques to get a good sound.

I have an old CB percussion kit. It has been refitted with all new remo pinstripe heads and a newly tuned snare, cymbals and pedals/hardware. I cant get a decent recording out of it at all, i dont know what I'm doign wrong. the bass drum maybe too narrow for the bass response i want or the mic could be positioned wrong.
