Hey guys, I’m just gonna lay out my situation here...
So I just picked up the AKG C414 XLII for recording some vocals at home. I run directly into a Scarlett 18i20 interface. Pretty unexperienced with most technical stuff.

Hey I'm just getting into recording and have found that everything recording i have done so far to sound... um idk clean and new I'm not sure how to explain it. I have Cubase 4 and a firepod. a bunch of sm57s, beta 52, AKG perception 200. I'm looking for that 60s/70s style sound without going into analog.

Talk about soul.
I put on a Bill Haley and the Comets record the other day and it sounded GREAT!
On C.D.
How did those guys record?
One mic?…Four mics?….
Obviously complete tube signal path.Maybe 1” tape …. One track?
Anyone know?
It sounded so fresh and balanced.Glenn Miller’s goode too.
Talk about soul.
