Replacing CAD Tube with GT or NOS

Again I can't find the referring topic, but I read on here that a user replaced the tube in his CAD mic with a nice Groove Tubes tube, and that he was saving up for a Telefunken NOS.

Is this wise? Is it worth it? I have a CAD VSM-1, and I like it a lot, but if replacing the stock tube means that I have a vastly improved mic, I'll spend $50-75 to do it.

Replacing drivers

I have a pair of the old Peavey Studio mointors that I have used for years and I actually like them alot. The surrounds on the woofers have crumbled and the speakers are rattling. Peavey wants over $75 each to replace the drivers...are there good sounding 8 " replacement drivers that don;t cost more than the speakers themselves are worth?

Replacing drum tracks with samples/Computer question

Ok,

I downloaded the Drumagog demo and I like the plugin , but the demo samples are cheap sounding. Does anyone have this plugin ...is the full thing worth the money? Is there a better way of replacing drum tracks with samples? The drum tracks I tried it on didn't have the best timing so it made them a lot worse and cheap sounding. probably user error.

Question on replacing pickups on a Jazz Bass

I just purchased the Fender Custom 60s pickup set and I'm trying to replace my pickups. I can figure out the wiring fine except for the little plates that the pickups sit on also have a wire soldered to them. One plate has a long metal stem (about 3 inches) coming from the center of the plate.
My questions are:
What do you solder the wires to?

Replacing Internal Battery in Power Tower Pro

Each time I shut down my Power Computing Power Tower Pro 225 (which has a Newer Tech 400 MHz G3 card installed), the date resets to 1956. I assume that this means that the internal battery has failed. Does any one know if this battery is easily removed, socketed rather than soldered in, and if a replacement can be obtained?
